Son Of Walk In The Park Now Two From Two Under Rules

Are U Wise To That (5g Walk In The Park - Pretty Puttens, by Snurge) ran out a comfortable winner of Sunday’s maiden hurdle at Uttoxeter to make it two from two under rules.

The son of Walk In The Park was bought for £125,000 after finishing second in a four-year-old maiden on his sole start for Enda Bolger and made a smart start for the Jonjo O’Neill team in a bumper last season. Sent off an even-money favourite on return, the bay raced prominently throughout under Jonjo O’Neill Junior and was travelling best of the field at the second last. Shaken up to lead before the final flight, he was pushed out on the run-in to score by five and a half lengths.

Owned by Michael Geoghegan, Are U Wise To That was bred by Mrs Rita Kent out of a half-sister to Denman. A full-brother to the promising five-year-old sold to Tom Malone and Paul Nicholls for £175,000 earlier this year.

Walk In The Park was responsible for another smart winner earlier in the week when Minella Plus (5g Walk In The Park - Violin Davis, by Presenting) drew clear on his chasing debut at Hexham.

Donald McCain’s charge completed a hat-trick over hurdles last season and was sent off favourite on his seasonal return. Ridden prominently by Brian Hughes, he boasted a six length advantage at the final fence and was pushed out to score by eight lengths, with a distance back to the third.

Owned by Miss McCracken, Minella Plus was bred by Kieran Cotter.
