Son Of Walk In The Park Takes Rated Novice Hurdle
A step up in class is on the cards for Itswhatunitesus (5g Walk In The Park - Ballyallia, by Presenting) after recording back-to-back wins in good style over hurdles.
Impressive when winning his bumper last season, Gordon Elliott’s charge justified even-money favouritism in a maiden hurdle last month and was well-supported to follow up in Monday’s Rated Novice Hurdle at Punchestown. Ridden to make all by Jack Kennedy, he was shaken up to go clear approaching the last and was pushed out on the run-in to win by a comfortable four lengths. The useful Carnfunnock (Getaway) took second, finishing 15 lengths clear of the third.
Speaking after the race, the winning trainer said, “It was a good performance and I thought Jack gave him a great ride. He said the further he went the better he jumped. He’s in all the Graded races.”
Owned by Alymer Stud, Itswhatunitesus was bred by Mrs E Costelloe out of Ballyallia Pride, who has a two-year-old filly by Order Of St George.
