Lunar Display (Getaway) Wins The Mares Maiden Hurdle At Tipperary

Talented Getaway Mare Returns To Winning Ways

Black-type performer Lunar Display (5m Getaway - Lunar Beauty, by Milan) gained a deserved win over hurdles when justifying favouritism at Tipperary on Thursday afternoon.

Successful in a bumper on debut last year, the Joseph O’Brien’s charge had since been placed in two Listed hurdles and one of 15 to line up for the mares Maiden Hurdle over two and a half miles. Chasing the leaders under JJ Slevin, she improved into second approaching the fourth last and led at the final flight. Keeping on well on the run-in, she scored by four lengths from Rebel Rose (Dylan Thomas).

Owned by the Annus Mirabilis Syndicate, Lunar Display was bred by Whisperview Trading and is one of two black-type horses out of Lunar Beauty (Milan).
