Talented Pair Complete Double For Getaway
Viva Lavilla (5g Getaway - Viva Forever, by Lando) maintained a perfect record when making a winning rules debut at Lingfield on Tuesday.
The winner of a four-year-old maiden at Lingstown for Denis Murphy, the son of Getaway was sent off favourite on his first start for Dan Skelton, in spite of almost a year’s absence. Chasing the leaders under Harry Skelton, he led approaching the final flight and kept on well to win by a length and three quarters.
Owned by Darren and Annaley Yates, Viva Lavilla was bred by Grove View Stud.
Carnfunnock (4g Getaway - Simply Erin, by Gamut) completed a double on the day for Getaway when running out a smart winner of the bumper under Daryl Jacob.
The Stuart Crawford-trained bay made a taking debut when finishing third in the valuable Goffs Land Rover Bumper in April and was sent off favourite for the two mile contest. Making smooth headway to lead from two furlongs out, the Irish raider went clear a furlong later and scored by five and a half lengths in comfortable fashion.
Owned by Simon Munir and Isaac Souede, Carnfunnock becomes the first winner bred by Edward McMahon out of the mare Simply Erin.
