Ticket collects another easy win for Getaway
Return Ticket (5g Getaway-Capelvenere, by Barathea) looks a horse to follow in the autumn after making a superb hurdling debut at Ayr on Monday.
The Ruth Jefferson-trained son of Getaway was having his first run since a 6-length bumper win in December and he scored by the same margin on his first run over obstacles.
The Racing Post commented: “The form is decent. RETURN TICKET, the comfortable winner of a Catterick bumper in December, was well backed to make a winning debut over hurdles and obliged in taking fashion. He displayed signs of greenness and made a mess of the second last, but it would be hard to knock this effort and his jumping on the whole was fluent. He looks a really nice prospect.”
Bred in Ireland by Michael Ward, the five-year-old appears to have a bright future and Jefferson said: “Return Ticket is still a bit green and will have learned a lot from that. He's had a break as he's been wanting decent ground. We'll put him away now and bring him back in the autumn.”
