Vadamos Three-Year-Old Scores On Hurdle Debut
The Nigel Twiston-Davies-trained Star Of Guiting (3g Vadamos – Innisfree Dawn, by Yeats) made a perfect start to his hurdling career at Exeter on Thursday.
Last seen finishing fourth in an Aintree bumper, the Vadamos gelding was partnered by Jamie Brace on his hurdle bow and raced at the back of the field in the early stages. Taking closer order from halfway, he led from three out and began to assert from the second last. Pushed along on the run-in, he led by a length and a quarter on the line.
Owned by Willy Twiston-Davies, Star Of Guiting was bred by RJ Whitford out of a half-sister to Grade 2 runner-up On Raglan Road (Flemensfirth).
