Walk In The Park Four-Year-Olds Impress On Debut
Classical Creek (4g Walk In The Park – American Creek, by Califet) announced himself as an exciting prospect when bolting up in the first division of Sunday’s four-year-old maiden at Tattersalls.
The Cormac Doyle-trained newcomer was sent off favourite under Jack Hendrick, who settled the bay towards the back of the field from the early stages. He improved to dispute the lead before three out and began to quicken from the next fence. In command by the final fence, he kept on well to win by ten lengths.
The €65,000 store sale purchase provides an exciting update for his half-sister by Order Of St George, who is catalogued in next month’s Goffs UK Spring Store Sale.
Bred by Mill House Stud and Niall Farrell, he became Walk In The Park’s second four-year-old maiden of the weekend, with Talk To The Man (4g Walk In The Park – Windermere Sky, by Oscar) having made a winning debut at Loughanmore the previous day.
He, too, was sent off favourite for the four-year-old maiden, with Rob James riding Donnchadh Doyle’s charge to chase the leaders for much of the way. He began to make headway from four out and joined the leader after the second last. He asserted soon after and kept on well on the run-in to beat Gaelic Rambler (Walk In The Park) by three and a half lengths.
The exciting prospect was bred by Edmond Coleman and sold to Monbeg Stables for £100,000 last May.
