Walk In The Park Mare Flies Home In Maiden Hurdle
Some Dove (5m Walk In The Park - Lonesome Dove, by Milan) justified strong market support on return in Monday’s maiden hurdle at Kilbeggan.
Sent off favourite under Tom Hamilton, Henry de Bromhead’s charge raced in mid-division for much of the two mile contest and began to make headway from three out. Chasing the leaders into the second last, she soon led and was ridden to draw clear approaching the final flight. Pushed out on the run-in, she won by 14 lengths.
Speaking after the race, Hamilton said, “She picked up very well and was strong at the finish.”
Owned by Daf Jones and Wil Rees, Some Dove was bred by Cathal Mariga out of the black-type mare Lonesome Dove (Milan). The daughter of Walk In The Park has a full-brother catalogued in the upcoming Derby Sale at Tattersalls Ireland.
