Walk In The Park Mare Proves A Class Apart On Debut
Lime Avenue (5m Walk In The Park - Carrigeen Kohleria, by Luso) emerged as an exciting prospect when drawing clear to win the mares’ bumper at Chepstow on Wednesday.
The Paul Nicholls-trained newcomer was well-supported for the two mile contest and was ridden prominently by Harry Cobden. Shaken up to lead approaching the four furlong marker, she drew clear from two furlongs out and continued to extend her advantage, leading by 14 lengths on the line.
Owned by Highclere Thoroughbred Racing, Lime Avenue was bought by Mags O’Toole and Tom Malone as a store for €110,000. Bred by Mrs Lalor, the daughter of Walk In The Park is a half-sister to Irish Grand National hero Rogue Angel.
