Walk In The Park Mare Wins Novice Hurdle In Good Style
A drop back in trip saw Walk Of No Shame (6m Walk In The Park - Ultimate Echo, by Gamut) gain a commanding first win over hurdles at Lingfield on Monday.
The Jonjo O’Neill-trained mare placed on her first three starts, before winning a bumper, and finished a promising fifth on hurdle debut in December. Well-supported to build on that effort in the Mares’ Novices’ Hurdle, she raced in touch throughout the two mile contest and improved to lead before the second last. Shaken up soon after, she was pushed clear on the run-in to beat a previous hurdle winner by five lengths, with another nine lengths back to the third.
There should be more to come from Walk Of No Shame, who is owned by Mrs Sharon Wilks and Paul Taiano. The daughter of Walk In The Park was bred by William Delaney and is a half-sister to five-time winner Ultimate Getaway (Getaway).
