Yeats’ Shattered Love gains well-deserved G1
The admirable Shattered Love (6m Yeats-Tracker, by Bustino) added a first Grade 1 victory to her impressive repertoire when landing the G1 Neville Hotels Novice Chase at Leopardstown on Friday.
A 10-length G3 winner on her previous start, the Yeats mare showed real tenacity to get up in the 3-mile Leopardstown contest with victorious rider Mark Walsh sporting the colours of Gigginstown House Stud.
"She's a big honest mare. She handled that better ground way better than I thought she would. Mark said she loved it and jumped from fence to fence,” said winning trainer Gordon Elliott.
“She galloped the whole way to the line. We'll have to have a think about where she goes now. She's got plenty of different options. She handles that ground well, she jumps and she stays. She's a nice one to have.”
Bred by Limetree Stud, Shattered Love is also a G3 winner over hurdles and boasts successes in a point-to-point and bumper.
