Buckna (Order Of St George) Wins At Kirkistown

Impressive Four-Year-Old Winner By Order Of St George

Buckna (4g Order Of St George – Close Flame, by Westerner) provided Order Of St George with another first crop winner when producing an impressive debut performance at Kirkistown on Saturday.

Noel McParlan lartnered the Ger Quinn-trained newcomer in the four-year-old maiden and took up the running with a circuit to go. He quickened when challenged on the turn for home and went on to win by three and a half lengths.

The Philip McBurney-owned gelding may now be offered for sale. Bred by Close Holding Ltd, he was bought by his owner with Ian Ferguson last May for £55,000.

Order Of St George’s first runners include impressive debut winner Mighty Bandit, who later sold for €420,000.
