Order Of St George Filly Bolts Up In Listed Bumper At Cheltenham
Seo Linn (4f Order Of St George – Persian Filly, by Persian Bold) couldn’t have been more impressive when quickening clear of her rivals in the Listed mares’ bumper at Cheltenham on Saturday.
A clear-cut winner at Ballinrobe in August, the Paddy Twomey-trained mare was sent off second favourite to Willie Mullins’ unbeaten raider in a field of 12. The bay raced prominently under Billy Lee and was full of running approaching the turn for home, asserting early in the straight. She quickened smartly a furlong from home and went on to score by five lengths with ease.
Bred by Glashare House Stud, Seo Linn is owned by Mrs A Phelan and Mrs Bridget Beckett. The Listed winner hails from the exciting first crop of Order Of St George, which also includes €420,000 buy Mighty Bandit, pricey point-to-pointer Buckna and impressive newcomer Future Prospect. The Castlehyde Stud sire’ second crop sold for up to €110,000 at this year’s store sales.
