Miss Maxfort (Order of St George) Wins Her Maiden Hurdle At Wexford

Promising Order Of St George Filly Beats The Boys

Miss Maxfort (4f Order Of St George – Ney Will, by Pistolet Bleu) built on a promising debut to beat the boys in Monday’s maiden hurdle at Wexford.

Trained by Nicky Stokes for owner/breeder Tom Egan, the bay finished second on her sole start last season, and was reunited with David Doyle on her seasonal return. Racing in midfield for much of the way, she took closer order from three out and led by the next. She ran on well when ridden approaching the final flight and kept on to beat the favourite by two and a half lengths, with another eight and a half lengths back to the third horse.

Miss Maxfort hails from the first crop of Castlehyde Stud sire Order Of St George.
