Listed Aim For Impressive Order Of St George Filly
A step up in class is on the cards for Seo Linn (4f Order Of St George – Persian Filly, by Persian Bold) after justifying short-priced favouritism in the mares’ bumper at Ballinrobe on Monday.
The Paddy Twomey-trained filly finished second to a well-regarded gelding over course and distance on debut earlier this year and was reunited with Johnny Barry on Monday evening. Settled in second from an early stage, the bay began to make headway from three furlongs out and led a furlong later. Pushed clear soon after, she was eased close home to score by five and a half lengths, with another 10 lengths back to the third.
“She'd a great run here the first day,” the winning rider commented. “She came forward a lot from that, and mentally came on a good bit. Paddy was sweet on her chances and she was impressive.
“This race had been the plan for a while and she might go to Gowran Park for a Listed bumper in October.”
Bred by Glashare House Stud, Seo Linn is owned by Mrs A Phelan and Mrs Bridget Beckett. She hails from the first crop of Order Of St George, which produced seven four-year-old maiden winners during the 2023/2024 point-to-point season.
