€150,000 Walk In The Park tops Arqana

Walk In The Park’s only offering at the Arqana Summer Sale proved the most-prized lot on offer when topping trade at €150,000 on Thursday.

Pinhooker Willie Browne, who sold Walk In The Park as a breeze-up horse, snapped up the prized juvenile who he plans to resell as a three-year-old store next summer.

Browne’s purchase is a half-brother to Argentique, a G3 winner over fences at Auteuil, and Browne commented: "I'm a bit sentimental I suppose as I sold Walk In The Park as a breeze-up horse many years ago. He was second in the Derby which was a great thrill for me. I haven't seen many of his sons and daughters but this horse is very good-looking.

"It's a lot of money but I'll be looking to resell him as a three-year-old. He's a fantastic looking horse and from a very limited book the sire's done very well - his strike-rate is fantastic."
