American Pharoah Standing Shot

$650,000 Filly Leads Way for Pharoah in Book 2

Book 2 left off right where Book 1 ended for American Pharoah at the Keeneland September Yearling Sale when the stallion saw a filly sell to Lael Stable for $650,000.

Offered by Gainesway, the filly had a big update after the catalog was released when her Grade 1 winning half-sister She Feels Pretty finished second in the Grade II Lake Placid S. and her dam’s Grade I-placed half-sister saw daughter Solo Album win a second Grade III in the Trillium.

This filly is a half-sister to two winners from two to race out of the three-time winning More Than Ready mare Summer Sweet. In addition to being a half-sister to Summer Solo, who is also the dam of stakes winner Maedean, Summer Sweet is a half-sister to the stakes winning duo of Summer Breezing and Adirondack Summer.

She Feels Pretty is the second Grade I winner on the page when Summer Sweet’s stakes winning dam a half-sister to dual Grade I winner Act One.

American Pharoah saw four of his yearlings in the book sell for over $250,000 with the others bringing $300,000, $275,000, and $275,000. The stallion’s 11 sold in Book 2 averaged $216,364 with his 12 sold through the first two books averaging $310,883.
