$725,000 Filly On Top Among American Pharoah Offerings at Keeneland

An American Pharoah filly out of Taylor S was purchased by West Bloodstock for Robert and Lawana Low on Monday for $725,000 as the most expensive offering by the stallion during the opening session.

A stakes winning daughter of Medaglia d’Oro, Taylor S is a half-sister to dual Grade I winner Liam’s Map and Giant’s Causeway’s Grade III winner and successful sire son Not This Time in addition to multiple stakes winner Matera.

Consigned by Taylor Made Sales, the filly is a half-sister to a winner from one to race out of their dam.

Talla Racing and West Point Thoroughbreds purchased Paramount Sales-offered Brian The Bold, an American Pharoah colt out of Screaming Skylar, for $450,000.

The dam of one winner from one to race, Screaming Skylar is a full sister to Grade II winner Bel Air Beauty. Bel Air Beauty produced Canadian champion Stacked Deck and stakes performers Valentino Beauty and Designer Ready. In all, six of Screaming Skylar’s siblings have either earned blacktype or produced runners who did.

M.V. Magnier and Linda Shanahan purchased a filly out of a stakes winning half-sister to three-time champion Gio Ponti and stakes winners Bon Jovi Girl and Fisher Pond for $435,000 from Paramount Sales as well. That was followed by a $350,000 filly purchased by G. Watts Humphrey Jr. from Lane’s End. The filly is a half-sister to stakes winner Fleet Review and out of a full sister to multiple Grade I winner Rip van Winkle.

American Pharoah’s eight sold averaged $338,125 during the first session with a $305,000 median.
