A$625,000 Colt Leads American Pharoah Offerings In Australia

American Pharoah made waves on Wednesday in Queensland, Australia when his son out of Group 3 winner Ennis Hill sold for A$625,000 to Sheamus Mills Bloodstock at the Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale.

Consigned by Coolmore Stud, the colt saw multiple updates to his already deep page after the catalog was released.

Ennis Hill’s full brother Acrobat won the A$500,000 Inglis Nursery on debut earlier this season to put himself into serious Group I Golden Slipper contention while another full brother named Memphis Rock also won at Flemington. A half-sister to the colt’s second dam also saw her daughter win the Listed Starlight Stakes in that time period.

This is the first foal out of the Fastnet Rock daughter, who is also a full sister to stakes winner and Group I Golden Slipper and Group I Blue Diamond third Lake Geneva. The aforementioned Memphis Rock is also Group III-placed. They are all out of Group II winner Hips Don’t Lie, who has produced six winners from six to race and is a half-sister to three other stakes horses.

Continuing the Triple Crown tradition, Ennis Hill also had a Justify filly last September. Her full sister Lake Geneva has an American Pharoah 2-year-old named Grappa Di Moscato, a colt by Justify born in September, and she is in foal to that Coolmore stallion again this year.

American Pharoah has seen plenty of success at the Gold Coast this week with yearlings also selling for $425,000, $350,000, and $320,000 for an average of $258,627 through the first three days of the sale.
