American Pharoah Colt Stars at Fasig-Tipton Fall Yearlings
Demand for the progeny of Triple Crown winner American Pharoah continued at the Fasig-Tipton October Fall Yearling Sale with a colt from Gloat being bought by Zayat Stables for $310,000.
Zayat Stables have purchased a number of yearlings by their superstar American Pharoah and Justin Zayat was well pleased with this acquisition.
Consigned by Peter O’Callaghan’s Woods Edge Farm, the colt is from winning Mr Greeley mare Gloat, a grand-daughter of multiple Grade I winner My Flag. He was a successful pinhook having been bought as a weanling for $230,000.
“He actually looked more like Mr. Greeley to me than American Pharoah,” Justin Zayat said after signing the ticket. “He has the pedigree and my dad [Ahmed] loved him as soon as he saw him. Peter O’Callaghan is very sharp buying weanlings and he paid good money for him.
“He fits our program. We are looking to get good-looking, well-bred colts and he was one of them.”
American Pharoah also had the second highest priced yearling sold with a colt from Danceinthesunlight selling for $300,000 to Alistair Roden Bloodstock.
