American Pharoah’s Lashara Sold for $300,000 at Keeneland
American Pharoah’s Lashara led the Triple Crown winner’s Keeneland January Horses of All Ages sale offerings when purchased for $300,000 by River Oak Farm.
Sold by Four Star Sales, Lashara was a three-time winner on the track in addition to being a stakes performer and is the first runner out of stakes winner and multiple graded stakes placed Marbre Rose. Marbre Rose is a half-sister to stakes winner and multiple Grade III placed Gidu, stakes winner Aviatress, and Grade III placed Mathletic.
Lashara is one of 15 stakes performers on the page with those horses led by Grade I winners Zoftig, Zo Impressive, and Zaftig in addition to Grade I Preakness Stakes runner up Tale of Verve.
Odd Fellow’s Bloodstock signed the ticket on a $225,000 American Pharoah colt, one of the most expensive yearling colts of the second session. Eaton Sales consigned the colt out of multiple stakes winner and Grade I placed Snowy Winter. That mare is one of three stakes winners out of stakes winner Pamona Ball, who also produced Grade III winner Pamina and multiple stakes winner Hieronymus.
American Pharoah ended 2022 with four Grade I winners, the second most of any Northern American stallion with the top stallion also siring nine stakes winners and 22 stakes performers overall last season.
