Fifteen On Offer For Golden Pal at Keeneland
Dual Breeders’ Cup winner Golden Pal is set to see 15 of his yearlings go through the ring at the Keeneland January Horses of All Ages Sale on January 13 – 15 to follow up his first crop bringing up to $325,000 as weanlings in November.
Golden Pal’s first through the ring is Hip 45, the first foal out of winning Union Rags mare Zazzy Zazzy Dazzle.
Offered by St George Sales and bred by Brookstone Farm, LPM Services, Gary Joyner, and James Blazek, the January-born filly’s dam is a half-sister to Grade I winner Hunter O’Riley. That gelding joins Diplomat Lady as Grade I winners on the page with Grade II winner Dream Play and Zulu Land also big winners on the page. In all, 13 stakes performers are named with eight winning stakes.

Bred by Fergus Galvin, Hunter Valley, and Marc Detampel the colt’s Elusive Quality dam Awesome Rafaela has produced three winners from four to race after registering multiple wins in her native Brazil. Awesome Rafaela is a half-sister to Group I winner Viva Rafaela, stakes winner Delicia Koller, and Group I placed Unique Zuca and is a full sister to Group I placed Baby Go Far.This colt’s granddam was successful on the track in addition to being a broodmare as a Grade I winner whose daughters have produced five stakes performers between them.
Highgate Sales’ Hip 84 comes through the ring with a stakes update after his dam’s half-sister Schilflied finished second in the Blue Northern Stakes to end 2024.
Schilflied was the second stakes performer for his granddam Part of the Charm, whose other stakes horse is this colt’s dam Bankruptonthebeach. The yearling was bred by Halcyon Farm, Wickes, Rabanal, and Krapf and hails from the family of Grade II winners Dancinginherdreams – who is a full sister to his second dam – and Texas Wedge and Justify’s Grade III winner Champions Dream. Each of Bankruptonthebache’s first five dams have produced stakes performers with 11 named under her three dams on the page.
Grade III winner Peach Brew is the dam of Hip 1191 offered by Buck Pond Farm and bred by her consignor and Rob Auerbach.
Peach Brew has produced five winners from seven runners, including the multiple stakes winner Sydney Freeman. Peach Brew is one of two stakes winners for Georgia Oak, who also produced Grade III winner She’s All In. That mare is the dam of multiple stakes winner and graded stakes placed She’s All Wolfe and Grade II placed Bolzy with another of Peach Brew’s half-sisters producing multiple stakes placed Cuatro Madres.
