First Graded Win for Munnings Sprinter

Chief Cicatriz (5g Munnings x Super Buggy, by Grand Slam) has an impressive win strike rate and posted a career best victory at Churchill Downs on Saturday evening when capturing the $100,000 Grade III Aristides Stakes.

Trained by Shawn Davis, Chief Cicatriz started his career racking up seven wins from his first nine starts at tracks in New Mexico and Arizona, but has now shown his worth on the big stage.

Chief Cicatriz was favourite for the six furlong sprint and raced away to win by more than six lengths in a dominant display taking his overall record to eight wins from 11 starts with prizemoney in excess of $286,000.

Chief Cicatriz is from Super Buggy, a half-sister to the dam of Grade I winner Suggestive Boy.
