Grade Three Winner for Munnings

Already a five-time stakes-winner, Barkley (5h Munnings x Numero d’Oro, by Medaglia D’Oro) scored a career best win when capturing the Grade III $200,000 Longacres Mile Handicap at Emerald Downs.

The Howard Belvoir trained chestnut is rarely far from the money and raced clear to win the one mile contest by a length and a half, taking his overall record to nine wins and five placings from 17 starts with prizemoney in excess of $350,000.

A modest $21,000 Keeneland September Yearling Sale purchase, Barkley is the first winner for Numero D’Oro, an unraced daughter of stakes-winner Numero Uno.
