Munnings Filly Wins Fair Ground Oaks
The bar keeps being raised for progressive filly I’m a Chatterbox (3f Munnings x Chit Chatter, by Lost Soldier) and she keeps jumping it, claiming another big win in the $396,000 Grade II Fair Ground Oaks at the weekend with the Kentucky Oaks looming large on the horizon.
Initially prepared by Kenny McPeek, I’m a Chatterbox has been firing on all cylinders for new trainer Larry Jones and posted her third straight win at this meeting when coasting clear to win the 1 and 1/16th mile contest by two and half lengths.
“She is a really nice filly,” said Larry Jones.
“We have been very blessed to get to race her. On to [the GI] Kentucky [Oaks] is the plan.”
A homebred for Fletcher and Carolyn Grey, I’m a Chatterbox has the promising record of four wins and a third from just six starts with over $468,000 in prizemoney.
The best of four stakes-winners for exciting young sire Munnings, she is a half-sister to two stakes-placed performers in Pegasus Again and Lady Bear from stakes-placed Chit Chatter.
