Munnyfor Ro Leads Munnings Offerings at Fasig-Tipton
Munnings’ Woodbine Oaks winner Munnyfor Ro was a popular mare at the Fasig-Tipton November Sale with Alpha Delta Stables going to $900,000 to buy her from Hill ‘n’ Dale at Xalapa.
A three-time stakes winner who was also placed in multiple graded stakes, Munnyfor Ro is one of two winners from three to race out of Repartee. That mare is a daughter of stakes winner Dubai Dancer, whose full sister is the Grade I winner Little Belle.
Little Belle was a Grade I producer as well with her daughter Dickinson winning the Grade I Jenny Wiley Stakes, Dickinson in turn produced stakes winner Wadsworth.
Shadwell Racing purchased a $500,000 Munnings weanling filly consigned by St George Sales early in the day.
She is the first foal out of Hard Spun’s Grade III winner Summer In Saratoga, who produced Grade I winner Love Theway You Are. Each of the three dams with racing aged foals on the page have produced at least one stakes winner with fourth dam Andora the matriarch of a family that includes Grade I winner and champion Gretzky The Great and Grade II winners Tower of Texas and Street Sounds among others.
Gavin O’Connor was busy at Fasig-Tipton on behalf of John Stewart when purchasing a pair of Munnings weanlings. The more expensive of the two was a $350,000 colt out of Show me from the Ballysax Bloodstock consignment.
Show Me has already had plenty of success with Munnings as the dam of his Grade I winner Eda from her first foal to race. The Lemon Drop Kid mare is also a half-sister to Grade III winner Aegean and stakes winner Light Bringer, with that one producing a Grade III performer. In all, there are nine stakes performers under the colt’s first three dams.
Stewart was also the buyer of a $200,000 weanling filly from the family of three-time Grade I winner Shedaresthedevil.
Munnings’ 12 stakes winners this year is seventh best of all North American stallions with his 31 stakes performers fourth best.
