Practical Joke Filly Sells for $520,000 at Fasig-Tipton Saratoga
It was a $520,000 filly for Practical Joke on Monday at the Fasig-Tipton Saratoga Sale when Eclipse Thoroughbred Partners and Bridlewood partnered to take her home.
Consigned by Paramount Sales as agent, the filly is the third out of Scat Daddy’s winning mare Never Grow Old. That mare is the dam of two winners from two runners with the duo including Grade II winner One More Bid. Bred by Grantley Acres and sold for $245,000 at last year’s Fasig-Tipton November Sale, the filly is a granddaughter of multiple Grade I winner Noches De Rosa.
Noches De Rosa has produced five winners herself and also saw another daughter produce Lookin At Lucky’s Grade I winner Nenufar Azul.
This page is full of blacktype with Noches De Rosa one of three stakes performers out of Night Girl, who produced Grade III winner Night Gumbler and the dams of multiple stakes winners as well. Night Girl is also a half-sister to Grade I winner Barzio and two other stakes performers.
A rising star sire, Practical Joke’s 21 stakes performers is fifth best among all North American sires with his runners including seven stakes winners led by last weekend’s Grade I winning Ways and Means.
