Practical Joke Juvenile Filly Romps In Debut
It was another impressive debut winner for Practical Joke in a Gulfstream Maiden Special Weight when Looking For Hope (2f Practical Joke x Bella Collina, by Pleasantly Perfect) romped to a 7 ¾ length victory.
Making her debut, the Saffie Joseph Jr. trainee went head-to-head with the leader early in the six-furlong race with the pair pushing each other into the stretch. At that point, Looking For Hope put the duel to rest when steadily pulling away in the final furlong.
Only two horses were within 13 lengths of the winner at the end. Her victory came just a few hours before Practical Joke scored another juvenile debut winner at Ellis Park with Jokes On Blue (2f Practical Joke x Bluegrass Miss, by Bluegrass Cat).
Looking For Hope is a homebred for Peter Vegso out of the winning Bella Collina. That mare is half-sister to stakes winners Tee Cat and Snug Harbor with two other siblings placing at the level.
Practical Joke is the sire of eight 2-year-old winners from his second crop – the same amount as his sire -including a stakes placed runner.
