Practical Joke Strikes Again With $150,000 Filly at Keeneland
It was another successful morning at the Keeneland January Sale for Practical Joke on Tuesday when his filly out of Ribbon Cutter sold for $150,000 to Empire Thoroughbreds as agent for Kingsport Farm.
Purchased from the Sequel New York draft, the filly is out of an Elusive Quality half-sister to stakes placed Couture Cat. She comes from an active family with her third dam Grade II winner Runway Model the dam of four-time Grade I winner and Eclipse finalist McKinzie and stakes placed Rompin Reid.
Bred by Sequel Stallions NY and Stonestreet Thoroughbred Holdings, the filly is bred on a similar cross to Listed winner Fight On and Grade I-placed Figure Of Speech.
An in-demand sire, seven of Practical Joke’s first yearlings have sold at the Keeneland January sale for an average of $75,571. The Grade I winning-stallion’s offerings are led by a pair of $150,000 fillies during the first two days of the sale.
