Practical Joke’s Richi Wins Second G1

Practical Joke’s Richi (3f Practical Joke x Rich Baby, by Scat Daddy) secured a second Grade I to her record in Chile this week when she won the Group I Clasico Alberto Solari Magnasco.

Racing over 1 ¼ miles in the third leg of Chile’s fillies Triple Crown, she was soon on the lead in the race as they raced down the front stretch for the first time. Opening up over a length lead on the field end down the backstretch, she started pulling away with just over three furlongs left to run as she easily raced into the stretch uncontested.

There was no catching her in the final furlong with a 10-length victory for owner Vendaval and trainer Juan Silva.

The Haras Pasa Nevado-bred is one of three winners from three to race out of Scat Daddy’s Group II-placed Rich Baby. That mare is also the dam of Group II winner and multiple Group I placed Rich Court and two other stakes performers.

Richi is one of nine Grade I winners for Practical Joke, whose first three worldwide crops of racing age include 31 stakes winners and 63 stakes performers led by 22 graded stakes winners.
