Resolute Buys $525,000 American Pharoah Filly
It was a big week for Resolute Racing and American Pharoah with the owner purchasing a $525,000 filly by the stallion at the OBS March 2-Year-Olds In Training Sale days before buying his promising 3-year-old Sweet Rebecca.
The fourth most expensive filly of the second session, the de Meric Sales offering is out of the Grade III winner and proven producer La Cloche.
A half-sister to Grade I winner Winter Memories and out of Grade I winner Memories of Silver, La Cloche is also the dam of Grade III winner Bellavais among her four winners.
In addition to Memories of Silver, La Cloche is also a half-sister to the stakes winning duo of British Blue and War Trace with multiple half-sisters also producing stakes winners.
A Don Alberto-bred, the filly has a yearling half-brother by Uncle Mo to come.
American Pharoah’s three Northern Hemisphere stakes winners in 2024 is eighth best among all North American stallions with the group including Grade I Kentucky Oaks hopeful Jody’s Pride.
