Tenth Winner for American Pharoah
Triple Crown hero American Pharoah posted his tenth first crop winner when Skygaze (2f American Pharoah x Skyscape, by Marquetry) scored a resounding seven length victory at Woodbine on Friday.
Fourth on debut at the same venue on July 20, the Mark Casse trained filly improved sharply at her second start to bolt clear and win the seven furlong maiden on the all weather surface by a commanding seven lengths.
A $300,000 Keeneland September purchase, Skygaze runs for Tracy Farmer and is a half-sister to Grade II winner Sky Cape and stakes-winner Sunny Skies from good producer Skyscape.
American Pharoah has made a brilliant start to his stud career with 10 first crop winners headed by French Group III winner Maven, Saratoga stakes-winner Another Miracle and stakes-placed Monarch of Egypt, Saqqara King and Sweet Melania.
American Pharoah is currently in Australia for his third Southern Hemisphere season and will have his first yearlings at Australasian sales in 2020.
