Tiger Touch Another International Winner for American Pharoah

American Pharoah scored another first time winner on Tuesday when Tiger Touch (3c American Pharoah x Osaila, by Danehill Dancer) broke his maiden at Fontainbleau in France.

Racing over 1¼ miles on turf, Tiger Touch was among a row of four going for the lead early on before settling between horses in midpack for the serious part of the running. Running a path off the rail under cover, Tiger Touch took advantage of a hole with two furlongs left to run and made his challenge.

The colt quickly left most of the field in his dust and won by a head in the end with the rest of his rivals at least three lengths back.

Trained by Nicholas Clement, Tiger Touch is a homebred for Al Shaqab Racing out of its multiple Group III winner and Grade I-placed Osaila. Osaila herself is full sister to Grade III winner Obama Rule and a half-sister to Australia Group III winner Dawn Wall.

The colt’s third dam is champion and Group I Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe winner Detroit, who is also the dam of fellow Arc winner Carnegie with the mare also producing three other stakes winners.

Triple Crown winner and Champion Freshman Sire American Pharoah is the sire of 50 winners in 2020 alone along with five graded stakes winners and 11 graded stakes horses – the best of any North American or European second year sire.
