12-length 2yo G3 winner for Holy Roman
Morandi (2c Holy Roman Emperor-Vezina, by Bering) not just won the G3 Prix de la Conde at Longchamp on Sunday, he stormed an amazing 12 lengths clear of the field.
Jean-Claude Rouget’s charge, an easy Longchamp conditions race winner on his previous start, oozed class as he left his rivals trailing in his wake in the nine-furlong contest.
Morandi continued an excellent season for Holy Roman Emperor’s juveniles. Bred by Eric Puerari, he was bought by Rouget by 65,000 euros at last year’s Arqana August Yearling Sale at Deauville.
