€300,000 for Starspangledbanner colt

Brendan Holland of Grove Stud believed that the Starspangledbanner colt he offered at Goffs on Tuesday was one of the nicest yearlings to pass through his Co Cork nursery and the February-born youngster had many admirers at the Goffs Orby Sale.

From the family of Alamshar, the colt cost €140,000 as a foal and changed hands on Tuesday for €300,000 when selling to agent Ric Wylie.

Meanwhile Form Bloodstock paid €180,000 for a Starspangledbanner colt offered by Coulonces Sales (pictured) and De Burgh Equine spent €105,000 on a filly out of the Street Sense mare Big Boned.
