50th Stakes-Winner for Holy Roman Emperor
Local trainer Shane Fliedner produced a hometown success in the Listed Bendigo Guineas when his progressive gelding Setinum (3g Holy Roman Emperor x Uptown, by Success Express) scored his first Black Type win.
Fourth at his previous start in a Listed event at Flemington, Setinum produced a career best performance to take the 1400 metre feature by a head and has now won two of five starts earning over $117,000 in prizemoney.
"His run last start at Flemington over 1100 (metres) was very good and suggested he was crying out for the 1400 here today,” said winning rider Jake Noonan.
"He was well placed here and this will turn out to be a good form race.”
Bred by Phillip Anderson of Salamander Park, Setinum was bought by his trainer for $17,000 from the Salamander Park draft at the Magic Millions Adelaide Yearling Sale.
The 50th stakes-winner for Holy Roman Emperor, Setinum is the best of four winners from placed Success Express mare Uptown.
