Another Stakes Success for Holy Roman Mare
Talented mare Sheidel (4m Holy Roman Emperor x Laventour by Metal Storm) has hit top form during the summer, posting back to back stakes wins with another bold front running victory in the Listed WATC RS Crawford Stakes at Ascot on Saturday.
Prepared by David Harrison, Sheidel led throughout to win the 1000 metre dash by half a length.
Retained to race by here breeder, Sheidel has the imposing record of 10 wins and two seconds from 14 starts with prizemoney topping $584,000.
Yet another stakes-winner for versatile sire Holy Roman Emperor, she is a half-sister to stakes-winner Latoria and is the best of three winners from Laventour, a half-sister by Metal Storm (Fr) to Group III winner Track Jester.
Also the sire in Australia of Caulfield Cup hero Mongolian Khan, Holy Roman Emperor is currently finishing his Southern Hemisphere season in Australia for Coolmore.
