Blueblood Per Un Dixir another stakes winner for Holy Roman
Late-maturing Per Un Dixir (4c Holy Roman Emperor–Cottonmouth, by Noverre) looks set for an exciting season after winning his first black-type event in Rome on Monday.
The Holy Roman Emperor four-year-old only had his first start when winning at the same course in January, then went on to land a conditions event before capturing the Listed Premio Signorino over nine furlongs by a length and a half on Monday.
Home-bred by Azienda Agricola Mariano, he is a sibling to the brilliant multiple G1 and Italian Derby hero Dylan Mouth (by Dylan Thomas). He comes from a family that gets better with age, his dam Cottonmouth was at her best as a five-year-old.
