Bright Future Ahead Of Sioux Nation’s Latest Winner
Miss Caruso (3f Sioux Nation - School Run, by Invincible Spirit) became the latest first crop winner by Sioux Nation when taking the fillies’ maiden at Dundalk on Friday.
A promising fourth last time out, Ado McGuinness’s representative stepped up to a mile on her third start and was ridden prominently by Ronan Whelan. Pushed along after the two furlong pole, she was ridden to lead a furlong later and kept on well to beat the favourite by half a length.
“Miss Caruso is a very smart filly we feel,” assistant trainer Stephen Thorne said after the race. “We like the filly a lot, she has plenty of size and will be better on turf as well. She has a good future.”
Owned by Shamrock Thoroughbreds and A Zevenbergen, Miss Caruso was bred by School Run Bloodstock. She hails from the promising first crop of Sioux Nation, who was responsible for seven Group performer last year.
