Calyx Filly Takes Epsom Maiden

Unreal Connection (2f Calyx - Susan Stroman, by Monsun) became the latest winner by Calyx when taking a step forward in Friday’s fillies’ maiden at Epsom.

Rhys Clutterbuck took the ride aboard the Amanda Perrett-trained bay and raced prominently throughout the seven furlong contest. Ridden approaching the two furlong pole, she led inside the final furlong and kept on well to win by three parts of a length.

The Derren Woods-owned winner may improve when stepped up in trip, being a half-sister to 90-rated stayer Platform Nineteen (Australia). Bred by Woodley Park Farm and Stud, she continues a smart start at stud by Calyx.
