Percival Wins At Saint Cloud

Camelot Colt Impresses At Saint Cloud

Percival (2c Camelot – Bella Bolide, by Rock Of Gibraltar) built on a promising debut to run out an impressive winner at Saint-Cloud on Friday afternoon.

The Andre Fabre-trained colt finished fifth over a mile in September and enjoyed a form boost when the first two home each won a Listed race. Stepping up to ten furlongs on his second start, he was settled in midfield by Alexis Pouchin and improved to chase the leaders approaching the turn for home. Pushed along to lead two furlongs out, he ran on well under hands and heels to score by four lengths.

The son of Camelot was sold by breeder Haras de Bourgeauville as a yearling, bringing €520,000 from Sackville Donald on behalf of Juddmonte. His Rock Of Gibraltar dam, herself a half-sister to two dams of Group 1 winners, has a yearling filly by Australia.
