Surpass (Saxon Warrior) Makes It Two From Two

Classy Saxon Warrior Colt Remains Unbeaten

Surpass (2c Saxon Warrior – Blending, by Medicean) made it two from two when easily accounting for his rivals in the Glenvale Stud Race at Tipperary.

Aidan O’Brien’s charge delivered over course and distance at the end of May and was sent off favourite to follow up under Ryan Moore. Chasing the leader for much of the way, he was travelling best of the field when leading before the final furlong. Running on well soon after, he was pushed out to score by three lengths, as €300,000 breeze-up buy Dakota Blue (Sioux Nation) finished second on debut.

Speaking after the race, Moore said, “He’s a nice horse and has had two nice runs here. He’s impressed me both times and hopefully he has a nice future.”

Owned by Coolmore partners, Surpass was bought by Camas Park Stud as a foal for 240,000gns. The son of Saxon Warrior was bred by James Wigan out of a half-sister to Group 3 performer Ricetta (Camelot).
