Saxon Warrior Colt Overcomes Inexperience To Win On Debut

Palazzo Blu (2c Saxon Warrior – Kalsara by Muhaarar) struck late to make a winning debut in Thursday’s ten-furlong novice stakes at Chelmsford.

Marco Botti’s newcomer was settled in midfield by Marco Ghiani, but showed his inexperience when rivals began to quicken. Racing wide on the turn for home, he was ridden to take second a furlong out and continued to stay on well, getting up to win by a short head.

Owned by the St Simon Partnership and bred by, Palazzo Blu is the first foal out of Kalsara. Her yearling filly by Australia sold for 150,000gns last month, while her Blackbeard filly foal sells at the upcoming Goffs November Foal Sale.
