Barefoot Warrior (3g Saxon Warrior – Barefoot Contessa, by Dansili) produced a smart performance to record back-to-back wins at Newcastle on Tuesday evening.

David O’Meara’s charge was well-supported ahead of the novice stakes over a mile, having won and finished third on his only previous starts. Settled in midfield by Danny Tudhope, the bay switched right and made headway approaching the final furlong, running on well to lead close home. The winning distance was half a length, with another half a length back to previous winner Lattaash (Footstepsinthesand) in third.

The Elwick Stud homebred completed a double on the card for Saxon Warrior, with two-year-old filly Shielas Well having made a successful step up in trip earlier on the card.
