Deauville stars for Holy Roman Emperor
Holy Roman Emperor’s fantastic year continued at Ripon on Monday when the Tom Dascombe-trained Deauville Prince (2c Holy Roman Emperor-Queen Of Deauville, by Diableneyev) scored in Listed company.
Richard Kingscote steered the colt, a Haydock maiden winner in July, to a length and a quarter success in the Listed Ripon Champion Two Year Old Trophy over six furlongs.
“Deauville Prince is going the right way. He stays seven furlongs, so six furlongs on soft ground worked out well for him. He makes life easy for you,” said Kingscote.
Deauville Prince was bred in partnership by Haras du Cadran and was bought for £30,000 at the Goffs Kempton Breeze-Up Sale in March.
