Letsbefrankaboutit (Sioux Nation) Wins The Group 3 Round Tower Stakes at the Curragh

Exciting Sioux Nation Colt Takes Round Tower Stakes

Coolmore sired dominated the finish of Saturday’s Group 3 Round Tower Stakes, with Letsbefrankaboutit (2c Sioux Nation - Omanome, by Acclamation) claiming top honours for Paddy Twomey and Alymer Stud.

The son of Sioux Nation first showed his promise for Katie Walsh, who sold him to Avenue Bloodstock at the Goresbridge Breeze-Up Sale for €240,000. The draw was against him on debut earlier this month, when he finished a creditable third, and he was sent off favourite to get off the mark in the Group 3 over six furlongs.

Racing in midfield in the early stages, he made headway when switched right after the two furlong pole and was ridden to lead inside the final furlong. Keeping on well, he scored by half a length under Billy Lee, as Mansa Musa (Ten Sovereigns) took second, with another length and a quarter back to Chandigah (Churchill) in third. Mountain Bear (No Nay Never) and Do It With Style (Ten Sovereigns) completed the first five placings.

Speaking after the race, Paddy Twomey said, “He learned a lot the last day when he had to race on his own. He was very good today, didn't put a foot wrong, and did what I hoped he'd do.”

Looking to the future, Twomey continued, “He's a big horse, we won't overdo it this year and hopefully we'll have a nice horse for a couple of years to come. He's entered in everything and we'll see how he is, I think he'll be a nice horse in time.”

Bred by John Halton and partners, Letsbefrankaboutit becomes a sixth individual Group winner by Sioux Nation. The son of Scat Daddy is responsible for another five Stakes winners, while his Group/Stakes performers total 22 horses, from just two crops of racing age.
