Exciting Walk In The Park Gelding Remains Unbeaten
The well-regarded Final Demand (5g Walk In The Park – Zuzka, by Flemensfirth) lived up to expectations on rules debut, as he eased 15 lengths clear in Saturday’s maiden hurdle at Limerick.
Ballycrystal Stables and Joey Logan’s €230,000 Derby Sale buy made an impressive debut at Lingstown in March and was sent off a short-priced favourite to make a successful start for Willie Mullins at the weekend. Ridden prominently by Danny Mullins, the bay asserted at the fourth last and boasted a clear advantage by the penultimate flight. He needed little encouragement at any stage, while his rivals fought for placings.
Speaking after the race, the winning rider said: “He was good, straightforward and being a massive horse, the potential is there for his engine to match it. He's classy and he could come back in trip.”
Bred by Kenneth Parkhill, Final Demand is now owned by Bryan Drew and Professor Caroline Tisdall.
