French stakes glory for Holy Roman Emperor
Pinturicchio (5g Holy Roman Emperor-Precious Pearl, by Peintre Celebre) became Holy Roman Emperor’s latest big-race scorer on Monday when winning the Listed Grand Prix Anjou Bretagne at Nantes.
The Elie Lellouche-trained five-year-old, winner of a competitive Chantilly handicap on his previous start, looked better than ever as he got up to take the mile contest under Anthony Crastus.
Pinturicchio, who now races for Julia Tokay, was bred by the Wildenstein family’s Dayton Investments and comes from the family of French 1,000 Guineas heroine Pearl Bracelet.
