Gleneagles Filly Impresses With Easy Stakes Success

Jumbly (2f Gleneagles - Thistle Bird, by Selkirk) showed her class when running out an effortless winner of the Listed Radley Stakes at Newbury on Saturday.

Chasing the leaders under Hollie Doyle, the Roger Charlton-trained bay was full of running two furlongs from home and cruised into the lead. Shaken up to go clear approaching the final furlong, she scored by four lengths and three quarters with ease.

“I’m very pleased,” the winning trainer later commented. “Today she travelled well and looked professional. We’ll put her away now and keep an open mind as far as next season is concerned.”

Owned and bred by Emmy Rothschild, Jumbly continues a fantastic season for Gleneagles, whose daughter Loving Dream captured the Group 1 Prix de Royallier earlier this month.

Emblem Empire (3c Gleneagles - Hurricane Emma, by Mr Greeley) completed a double on the day for his in-form sire when drawing five lengths clear in a ten furlong novice stakes at Chelmsford.

A promising second on debut, John and Thady Gosden’s charge went one better last month and was sent off favourite to repeat the feat on Saturday. Racing clear approaching the final furlong, the chesnut was eased close home by Robert Havlin, leaving his rivals to fight for placings.

Owned by A Albawardi, the exciting colt was bred by MG White.
