Hannon aims Holy Roman filly Maureen at Guineas
Trainer Richard Hannon is aiming Holy Roman Emperor’s exciting daughter Maureen (3f Holy Roman Emperor-Exotic Mix, by Linamix) at the G1 1,000 Guineas.
The Colm McEvoy-bred three-year-old ran out an impressive winner of the G3 Princess Margaret Stakes at Ascot in July and she could have a Classic prep run in the G3 Fred Darling Stakes at Newbury in April.
“We have several classy fillies coming along nicely,” Hannon told his website. “Maureen might have to go to the Fred Darling Stakes (with stablemate Sky Lantern), though I'd rather they did not clash in a dress-rehearsal. Maureen has plenty of speed, but she is not a tearaway and we think that she will stay the Guineas mile.”
